Aliento!
is located just 20 minutes south of the center
of Santa Fe, on State Highway 14, the historic and scenic "Turquoise
Trail" that winds through the old mining towns of Cerrillos and
Madrid. Located on 10 acres, the grounds are lovely, featuring large
cottonwood and elm trees as well as some fruit trees. The residential
building is over 3500 square feet, including the guest accommodations,
a common living/dining area and full kitchen. The studio/school/gallery
building is also approximately 3500 square feet and has several
classroom and workshop areas as well as offices and a large display
area.

stay with us in Santa Fe !
Whether
you are coming to Santa Fe for a seminar in glass
working techniques or just as a vacation, Aliento!
offers several comfortable rooms for guests. There are two
standard rooms with queen size beds and private
baths (showers and clawfoot tubs!), high ceilings and lots
of light. Three larger suites
are also available. The first has a bedroom area (queen size bed),
living room area, complete kitchen and private bath. The second
is a little smaller, with its own private kitchen, but no living
room. The third has no kitchen (you access the main kitchen) but
has a very large separate living room and 3/4 bath (shower, no tub).
Extra beds are available in a couple of rooms for an additional
charge. There are two economy rooms
available for students only, located in the studio/gallery building.
These are smaller, but comfortably appointed, with full size beds
(for one person). These two rooms share a bathroom with shower.
Rates for these rooms vary throughout the year, but students in
classes receive a discount off the regular rates.

The
common areas of the dining and living rooms feature hand carved
posts supporting wooden beams, Saltillo tile floors and Oriental
rugs.
The
original part of the hacienda may be over 100 years old, and
has hand-hewn beams and ceiling boards. Furnishings are Southwestern
and Santa Fe style, with antiques thrown in for flavor.
Students
who stay with us visit and network during off times. Frequently,
we hold barbeques or eat dinner together at one of Santa Fe's
great restaurants.. |

This is
one of the rooms in the hacienda, featuring a wrought iron
queen size bed, carved and inlaid bathroom doors from Morocco
on wooden hinges, an antique clawfoot tub, saltillo tile floors
with oriental rugs, high ceilings with ceiling fan, a "Santa
Fe style" amoire, and lots of plants. Our location is
quiet and relaxing after an intense day in class or a day
exploring Santa Fe.

Our
