DVD #4: Designing for Glass Etching | |
DVD #4: Designing for Glass Etching A major part of designing is knowing how to combine the different etching techniques in one project, to best make use of the strengths of each technique. There are presentations on how to use special techniques like controlled glue chipping and using found resist materials, like glue and fabric, to create unique textures on glass. These textures are very compatible with etched designs and few people know how to produce them. |

A large project is presented on this video which combines all the techniques shown. Two different patterns for this project are included on the free CD that comes with the DVD. This way, you can follow along with the tape to learn how to combine all the techniques and complete the project. Pre-cut stencils of the designs are available on a variety of resists.
This DVD version also has an overview of new equipment available since the original tape was created, an introduction to Aliento Glass School, a video gallery with 40 beautiful pieces of etched glass. Bonus value! Important note: Glass etching designs are especially hard to find, so we have created 2 books of etching designs to help you get started with a large design library. Our Design Book 1 has over 410 designs and Design Book 1, Volume 2 has 475 designs for surface etching, carving and shading. |
