Video #2: Multi-Level Carving Techniques

Sandblast glass carving techniques produce beautiful 3-dimensional carvings in any type of glass, flat or round.Single stage, two stage and multi-stage (or multi-level) carving techniques are thoroughly explained and demonstrated in this intensive presentation. Learn everything you need to know to carve glass, including analyzing the design for proper carving sequence, how to carve different types of designs, as well as the equipment and supplies necessary. There are also sections on using pre-cut resists, carving techniques using an on-site blaster and safety considerations. The DVD is based on an explanation--presentation--demonstration model.

Each technique is first explained, then the project meant to show that technique is presented and demonstrated step by step.

The instructional portion of the DVD starts out with the simplest one-stage carving technique and progresses to increasingly more complex multi-stage techniques and projects. Four full size patterns for projects presented on the video are included on a separate CD when you purchase the DVD, so you can follow along with the tape to quickly learn to carve your own projects.

The instructional portion of the DVD is 1 hour, 27 minutes long and comes with 4 CD patterns for the projects shown on the DVD. All patterns shown on the video are available as pre-cut stencils. The DVDs also feature over 20 minutes of new information, plus much more.

In addition, glass etching equipment is explained and materials required for etching are introduced. This DVD version also has an overview of new equipment available since the original tape was created, an introduction to Aliento Glass School, a video gallery with 40 beautiful pieces of etched glass.
